The Ljubljana-based team will compete in the EHF Champions League for the 32nd consecutive season. Under the leadership of head coach Rasmus Poulsen, the new squad enters the season with plenty of energy, a strong desire to improve and the ambition to continue Krim’s long-standing tradition of competing among Europe’s best teams.
The new chapter in Krim’s story will be led on the court by captain Nina Zulić. Taking on the role, she highlighted how proud she is to lead the team at the very club where she took her first steps in handball, while also recognising the responsibility that comes with wearing the captain’s armband.
Club president Iztok Verdnik emphasised that the club’s new team is built with a long-term perspective: »Krim’s story this season is not about a single game, but about building for the years ahead. I am convinced that we have chosen the right path.« While aiming to maintain the club’s dominance on the domestic scene, his main wish is to see the Krim players bring the energy of a young team and a strong desire to win to the European stage.
The new season therefore marks another chapter for RK Krim OTP Group Mercator and the continuation of a partnership that brings together two Ljubljana stories – one rooted in top-level sport, the other in the creation of a new urban centre.
